What being a member of the British Woodworking Federation means for our customers

Rudd Joinery, on 6th September, 2018

Whenever you hire a tradesman, you want to know the work they do is going to be of a high standard and that it’s going to be fairly priced. Whether it’s a small home improvement job or a major renovation project, you want to be able to trust the people you choose to work on your property.

One of the best ways to ensure a company is going to be trustworthy and that they’re going to do good quality work is to look for professional accreditation. Companies that are approved or endorsed by professional organisations are much more likely to provide you with an outstanding service.

This is just one of the reasons Rudd Joinery is proud to be a member of the British Woodworking Federation. One of the most respected organisations in the industry, membership of the federation shows that we’re committed to providing our customers with the best service possible.

The British Woodworking Federation

An important industry body, The British Woodworking Federation provides advice, support and information to its members as well as to customers using members’ services. On top of that, the organisation is a powerful voice for the woodworking industry, influencing policy related to the sector and protecting the interests of its members. Today, the organisation has over 700 members across the country. As well as joiners, these members come from businesses specialising in the manufacture, distribution and installation of high-quality wooden fixtures, furnishings and fittings.

What being a member of The British Woodworking Federation means for us

All members of the BWF have to abide by the organisation’s code of conduct. There are eight central pillars of the code. These include providing high-quality customer care, responding to customer complaints, working to constantly improve technical expertise and providing training to others in the industry. Importantly, the code also requires members to do their best to buy their wood from sustainable sources.

The BWF provides members with numerous training opportunities and encourages members to take on apprentices so that future woodworkers will meet their high standards. What’s more, customers who need advice on woodworking services can go to the BWF for guidance on different tradesmen and different services, helping them find the woodworker who’s perfect for their needs.

Great news for our customers and our hardworking team of woodworkers, membership of The British Woodworking Federation demonstrates our existing high standards and our commitment to maintaining these standards in the future.
